Ashley, two years later!

A. Ashley's main design. I worked on this first, mainly to pair Ashley up with her new Weapon Mini, Lovelace. Overall, this update is supposed to show that Ashley's now an adult- 20 years old, to be precise. I've shortened her hair, made her face slightly thinner, narrowed her eyes, and given her business clothes with nods to her previous design, such as her sweater jacket. Her design should show a change from "cute rich brat" to "domineering businesswoman".

Ashley has accepted that she'll never gain the favor of the public eye due to her past misdeeds. After all, Ashley abused her domestic servants and performed unethical experiments on her Minis. These facts will never go away, but it's also true that Ashley has grown into a better person. Sure, she's still narcissistic and short-tempered, but now she treats her Minis like friends, instead of tools for her own personal gain.

B. Once Ashley got a makeover, I had to redo her formal attire as well. It's mostly the same outfit, though its slightly longer with a large bow in the back. The hairstyle is also a little different when compared to her design on the left. 

Ashley's infamy precedes her when she arrives onstage for a Mini Performance...and in some twisted way, she's learned to enjoy it. Becoming aware of the concept of being a heel, a person who revels in hatred, Ashley has stopped trying to force people to like her. Instead, she puts on a show which bends the rules just enough to humiliate her adversaries and frustrate the crowd, all while earning the begrudging respect of the judges. Put on a fantastic display, psyche the other contestants out, then watch them sabotage themselves: it's all part of Ashley's "evil" plan!

C. I tried redoing Ashley's "punk outfit", and went through several changes. In the end, I couldn't really picture Ashley being the "gritty street punk" type- but perhaps that was the point of the original design. Ashley has never been an edgy character; giving her the punk jacket simply showed that she was trying too hard. Instead of emphasizing the "punk" aspects of that design, I merged it with a few of Ashley's "refined rich girl" qualities. What came out was something I could see her wearing on a night out with friends.

Outside of gaining the trust and respect of her Minis, Ashley has other friends, particularly Rosa. Between how she carries herself in battles and performances, Ashley feels like she can be herself around Rosa. The pair tend to bond over the unsavory parental figures in their lives. Ashley used to vent about how her father, Barnes Breness, wouldn't give her enough attention. Now, Barnes has shown nothing but disapproval towards her, saying that her infamy among the public is "bad for business". Like Rosa, Ashley is starting to consider cutting ties with her father...
