Incense sticks or agarbatti, like lamps and camphor, hold special importance in religious rituals. Their soothing fragrance helps create a peaceful and positive environment in the home. While most people purchase scented incense sticks, it’s also possible to make them at home with ease. The best part is that fresh flowers aren’t necessary; dried flowers can be used instead. Rather than discarding the flowers offered during worship, you can repurpose them to create your own incenses.
Here, we will guide you through a simple method for making agarbatti or incense sticks at home using dried flowers.

- Add gum or arrowroot powder into the mixture, and then add ghee to create a thick paste that will help bind everything together.
- Now make small balls of this paste and shape the incense according to your choice.
- Dry the prepared incense sticks in the shade for 1 day. When they are completely dry, you can store them.
