It is not clear from the article anotheruser1 posted whether private prisons cost more or less than public prisons.

Other factors have influenced fluctuations in the crime rate, like fluctuations in the youth population. Nevertheless, I am persuaded that in this case correlation gives strong evidence of causation. More punishment causes less crime.

If private prisons cost less than private prisons I am in favor of more of them. Uncle Joe Stalin ran his prison system at a profit to the Soviet government.

I think we should learn from his achievement. I care nothing for the well being of convicted criminals. I do not believe that they deserve remedial education, job training, and recreational opportunities. I believe that they have debts to pay society.

I want more criminals to be put into prison. I want them to be kept there for a long time. I want them to pay their debts to society. I want them to be treated harshly. I want for the pain to be put into punishment.

Therefore I like this policy.

 

I have no problem with your policy other than half the people in prison are innocent people that were framed or had cops falsify reports, plant drugs and other evidence.

You would not want the treatment you speak of if you were framed for say a murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. ...

So what do you do if that happens, would your opinion be the same?

Do you say it because every inmate say's they're innocent and every prosecutor say's they're not, for an average of 50%?

Or do you say that because you have some inside knowledge of the corruption within our criminal justice system(s)?
